Chevy Beretta Trans-Am, This car ran in the Pro Trans-Am series in 1988 and 1989. In 1988 the car was driven by Scott Overbeey in 1 race and then driven by R.K. Smith for the rest of the season. in 1988 the car was sponsored by Baja Boats, I looks like the car also raced 1 time in the 1988 IMSA GTO series, In 1989 the car was driven by A.V. Coleman and was sponsored by US saving Bonds. Which was front page news in the Wall Street Journal since it was unheard of using tax dollars to sponsor a race car. the car was also seen in many magazines as sponsored by US saving Bonds. After the Trans Am series the car was used for track days and was in the New York Auto Show. these were some of the biggest years for the Trans Am series as the fields where very big raging from 30 - 40 cars in each race. this cars best finish was 5th at Mid-Ohio. Lots of big names raced in the 1988 and 1989 seasons like; Hans Stuck, Hurley Haywood, Irv Hoerr, Lyn St. James, Scott Pruett, Scott Sharp, Paul Newman, Paul Gentilozzi, Ron Fellows, Dorsey Schroeder Tommy Kendall and many more.
